Chris Smith, who played high school football at West Rowan in North Carolina and college football at Arkansas, has left a deep void in the NFL community. The devastating news of his passing was announced on Twitter by his high school alma mater's football team.
Smith was selected as a fifth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft and played for the team for three seasons. Later, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017, played for the Cleveland Browns for the following two seasons, and then played eight games with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020. He also played four games with the Houston Texans in 2021.
