A shooting at an outlet mall in a Dallas suburb on Saturday afternoon has resulted in the death of at least nine people, including the shooter, and seven others sustaining injuries, according to police.
While responding to another call, an officer from the Allen Police Department heard gunshots and located and "neutralized" the shooter. It is believed that the shooter acted alone.
The department's tweet stated that a multi-agency response helped to secure the mall. Of the nine people transported to area hospitals, seven were pronounced dead on the scene, including the shooter, and two others have since passed away.
Three individuals are in critical condition, while four are in stable condition. Medical City Healthcare, a Dallas-area hospital system, reported that eight people between the ages of 5 and 61 are under treatment.
